Peace, Love, and Cupcakes Musical – 3rd to 8th grade – Winter/Spring 2026
Join the Cast of Our Spring Musical: Peace, Love, and Cupcakes!
We have spots open for ensemble roles! As an ensemble cast member, you will also understudy a role (or two, if you are ambitious!), have a more flexible rehearsal schedule, and pay a deep-discount fee of $550. Rehearsals have started but this is a long process through mid-May, so please come get in on the fun and round out our cast in this feel-good, important show!
In this big-hearted musical, based on the bestselling children’s book series, Kylie Carson has a big problem: she’s different. And different isn’t necessarily a good thing in 7th grade. She loves vampires, zombies, and all things pertaining to monster movies–one of the many reasons why kids at her new school avoid her like the Creature from the Black Lagoon. To sweeten up her image–and find a place where she belongs–Kylie starts a cupcake club (Peace, Love & Cupcakes), attended by three other socially invisible girls. Together, they forge a powerful friendship, figure out how to create crowd-pleasing cupcakes, and become a booming baking business that would make Martha Stewart envious. But when Meredith Mitchell, Blakely Middle School’s resident Queen Bee, tries to sabotage their efforts, will Kylie have the courage to stand up to the bully and bring the school together? A musical that celebrates kid power, friendship, and standing up for who you are and what you believe in.
WE STRONGLY ADVISE STUDENTS IN THE PRODUCTION TO ALSO BE IN ACTING CLASS (there are options on Tues and Thurs). Use the discount code 20%OFF when registering for acting/improv class (applicable for PLC cast members only).
Rehearsals will run on Saturdays, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, at Saugatuck Congregational Church. The performances will be May 8 and 9—on Fri and Sat evening. There will be mandatory tech and dress rehearsals during the week leading up to performances; see the schedule below (subject to minor adjustments—please remain flexible that week).
